Snowboard Kevin Pearce Recovery Update

There is a great article on the Burtling Free Press and then a video from the Today Show showing the recovery of Kevin Pearce.

For those of you who missed the serious accident that happen to Kevin Pearce right before the 2010 Olympics, it was a sad story about a Burton sponsored snowboard kid from Vermont who should have been competing for Gold, but had a sersious head injury right before the Olympics. Many were not sure he would even survive, but this is a pretty cool story to see how it all turns out.

This is a must read and must watch!

For the first time in history of skateboarding there will be a street skateboarding competition organized into its very own professional league, with the best skateboarders in the world competing head-to-head in a series of individual tour stops in the summer of 2010.

Rome SDS 2010 – Third Annual Stoken

Rome SDS Snowboards will be holding their 3rd annual Stoken weekend.

The event feature series has returned after Rome has it on a short hiatus. “What Stoken lacks in rigid structure, international point rankings, and official rotation judges, it makes up for in what’s most important in any snowboarding event… having FUN with a big crew.”

Some of the features that will be included this week are the following:

• Barrel Bonking Bonanzas – Get tappy
• One Hit Wonders – Pipe hits without the gymnastics
• Small Air Contest – Grabbin’ fast counts
• Mystery Feature – Mysteriously awesome

The events will take place at the following mountains:

Nubs Nob, MI – March 27th Registration 12pm
Holiday Valley, NY – March 27th Registration 10am (Helmets Required by Holiday Valley)
Gunstock Mountain, NH – March 28th Registration 10am
Sierra at Tahoe, CA – March 28th Registration 11am

There will be prizes for the top 3 finishers at each mountain and Rome is promising a good time will be had by all.
