K2 Snowboards

K2 Snowboards began operations in 1988, and have since pioneered several snowboard technologies including the variable width board and the “Clicker” binding system.  By 1993 the K2 snowboarding division was one of the first snowboarding companies pushing freestyle – this was the first season where the strap boot binding came into existence.

One of K2 snowboards most popular boards was the first wide board on the market called teh FATBOB also known as the “Orignial Fatty”.  The FATBOB was designed for the riders that had those boot feet and always had issues with their toes dragging on the front edge.  The K2 Luna, a board designed specifically for women was introduced 1n 1998, and is still one of the top selling boards in the country. In 2003, K2 become K2 sports, with the addition of several sport product brands including Ride Snowboards, Morrow Snowboards, Tubbs Snowshoes and Line Skis.

K2 Snowboards line up on high tech snowboards include the Darkstar, Jibpan, and the Podium to name just a few.  Their snowboards are riden by some of the words best snowboarders including Wille Yli-Luoma, Gretchen Bleiler, Shaun McKay, Leanne Pelosi, Eero Niemela, Jordan Mendenhall and Danny Larsen.
